India Gateway hosts Pre-Departure Orientation sessions for incoming students

The India Gateway organized a virtual pre-departure orientation session on June 3 for undergraduate and graduate students from India attending Ohio State in the autumn 2022 semester. Nearly 90 new Buckeyes joined the orientation to learn about available resources that would help them prepare better for their departure to Columbus.

Admitted students gain insights from current students

The India Gateway organized a virtual panel discussion for admitted undergraduate students scheduled to come to campus in autumn 2022. The session helped students learn more about Ohio State through the experiences and perspectives of current students.

Fisher hosts in-person Pre-Departure Orientation for graduate students in Mumbai

The Fisher College of Business hosted an in-person Pre-Departure Orientation for incoming graduate students in May. Organized by the India Gateway, 23 Buckeyes from around India attended the orientation in Mumbai that featured in-person host Associate Dean, Graduate Program and Executive Education, Aravind Chandrasekaran, as well as Fisher College colleagues who joined virtually.

International Affairs recognized with advising award

The Office of International Affairs has been awarded the Wayne Carlson Friend of ACADAOS Award for the 2021-22 academic year. ACADAOS is Ohio State’s internal Academic Advising Association, a professional organization for academic advisors. The award was presented on April 27 at the annual ACADAOS Recognition Ceremony, which honors outstanding advisors and advising administrators.

Ohio State connects with admitted students in India

More than 450 students across India received admission notifications to Ohio State for the fall semester of 2022. The Office of Student Academic Success, in collaboration with the India Gateway, organized a virtual information session for the admitted students from India and South Asian neighbors on April 3.

Execution Excellence seminar delivered to employees in India

The Fisher College of Business and S. P. Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) delivered the "Creating Execution Excellence: The Missing link between Strategy and Results" seminar to more than 100 mid and senior-level employees from various businesses with an average work experience of 15 years.

CSIR-IMTECH – A potential research partner in India

The India Gateway is exploring potential research partnerships with the Institute of Microbial Technology (CSIR-IMTECH), one research institute among a network of 38 national laboratories, six units and 39 outreach centers of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research, managed by the Government of India.

Ohio State Radiation Oncology and All India Institute of Medical Sciences discuss multifaceted collaborations

Senior officials from the Department of Radiation Oncology at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – James (OSUCCC – James) and eight faculty members from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) met on February 18 to discuss potential partnerships.

Alumni Spotlight: Deepak Menon

“The biggest takeaway from my time at Ohio State was having a growth mindset that enabled me to learn, adapt and navigate change,” explained Deepak Menon (MArch ’99, Knowlton School, MFA ‘01, Design, College of Arts and Sciences). Fast forward two decades, now a partner director at Microsoft, in Hyderabad, India, Menon credits Ohio State for changing his perception on technology and how it impacts the lives of everyone on the planet.
