OIA international research and scholarship grants awarded for 2024-2025 academic year
The Office of international Affairs (OIA) awarded close to $100,000 in grants to seven faculty, 21 graduate students, and two undergraduate students to conduct international research and scholarship projects abroad and in the United States. Awards ranged between $1,000 and $4,000, and will be used during the 2024-25 academic year.
From Brazil to Uganda, Estonia to South Korea and everywhere in between, faculty and students will travel to 18 different countries to advance their research and expand their global engagement.
Provost Zadnik honors Fulbright and Fulbright-Hays recipients
On March 28, 2024, Interim Executive Vice President and Provost Karla Zadnik recognized students and faculty from The Ohio State University who are recent Fulbright and Fulbright-Hays recipients and Fulbright student semifinalists, as well as visiting Fulbright students and scholars from around the globe, during a reception at the Thompson Library.
Recap: India Health Conference 2024
The Scientific Congress on Challenges in Disease Management and Outcome brought together 175 participants and showcased 50 speakers, moderators and panelists in Mumbai on Feb. 9 - 10. Organized by the India Gateway in collaboration with health partners in South Asia, this marked the fifth international conference of its kind, and strengthened the ongoing partnership between The Ohio State University and Nanavati Super Specialty Hospital.
Year in Review 2023
In 2023, the Ohio State India Gateway thrived in fostering impactful connections and collaborations. Engaging with over 3,000 prospective students through 45 high school visits and recruitment fairs, we provided crucial support to admitted students, hosting virtual pre-departure orientations and global education opportunities.

In pursuit of preparing leaders to be 'day-one-ready' for the dynamic business landscape, the Fisher College of Business developed the Global Applied Projects (GAP) program. This signature program offers MBA students an optional experiential learning capstone-like opportunity that turns theory into practice.
Exploring Frontiers in Healthcare: Global scientific congress tackles disease management challenges
In collaboration with The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Nanavati Max Super Specialty Hospital, the India Gateway is set to host a groundbreaking two-day scientific congress addressing the intricacies of disease management and outcomes on February 9-10, 2024, in Mumbai. This conference marks the continuation of a successful legacy, following four previous signature conferences that delved into emerging infectious diseases and advancements in TB and HIV research.
Alumni Reception in Mumbai: a night of nostalgia and recognition
In collaboration with the College of Arts and Sciences, the India Gateway hosted a heartwarming alumni reception in Mumbai in December that fostered nostalgia and camaraderie among the Buckeyes who attended. Alumni from diverse disciplines, including engineering, business and arts and sciences, relished the opportunity to reconnect.
