Staying involved

Now that you have been abroad, your interests may have changed and your perspective on life broadened. You may be looking for a way to share your international experiences with others or seek more friends who are knowledgeable about other cultures. There are many opportunities at Ohio State for you to get involved and continue your international education.

On campus

  • Learn more about getting involved with the Office of International Affairs. Join us for a fun Global Engagement Night, check out an international film, experience the flavors of the world at Taste of OSU or find another activity that interests you on our events calendar.
  • Stay informed on all things global by following us on Facebook, Instagram, X and Linkedin and joining our Global Engagement newsletter. 
  • Become an English conversation partner. The English Conversation Partners program matches American students with international students who are interested in learning more about the English language and culture in the United States. 
  • Apply to become a student leader. 
  • Live in the International House learning community at Ohio State.
  • Visit student activities to see the variety of clubs and organizations available to students, many with a cultural or international focus. Joining one of these organizations can help you learn more about a specific nationality, meet new friends and stay immersed in a particular culture through various events and programming.

Consider other opportunities to go abroad now and in the future!

  • Explore ways to study abroad again, along with other international experiences through Buck-I-Serv, Ohio State language departments and the Graduate School.
  • Search for opportunities including international internships, volunteering and teaching English abroad 
  • Learn more about joining the Peace Corps 
  • Apply to become a Fulbright scholar. This national program allows U.S. graduating college seniors, graduate students, young professionals and artists to study, conduct research, and/or teach English abroad.
