Due to the preliminary injunction by a federal court on September 14, 2026, which paused a new federal immigration rule change affecting international students and visiting scholars in the United States, immigration information on this website is subject to change. Ohio State is monitoring these developments and will update this website as additional information becomes available.

International Student Advisory Board

The International Student Advisory Board gives a voice to international students at Ohio State and provides a formal line of communication between the international student community and the Office of International Affairs.

The board will be a forum for students to suggest new initiatives, and bring important concerns to the attention of the Office of International Affairs. Each semester the group will identify two to three topics as areas of focus. At the end of each semester, the group will provide a report to International Affairs leadership, to highlight priority concerns, progress towards addressing them, and requests for institutional support in specific areas.

The group may hear and address concerns specific to one nationality or group, but the primary focus will be on issues impacting the entire international student community.

The board convenes monthly with the International Affairs global engagement team and students are responsible for attending meetings, actively engaging in discussions, working cooperatively to address concerns affecting international students at Ohio State, and promoting understanding and respect towards and among all international students on campus.

Applications for the inaugural advisory board are now being accepted through Monday, November 9.
