Explore Yellow Springs: Hike, Shop and Discover
October 15
10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Join fellow students during autumn break for an all-day trip to Yellow Springs where we will hike nature trails and explore downtown! Yellow Springs proudly boasts a rich history of embracing diversity, fostering creativity and nurturing a strong sense of community. Established in the early 1800s, Yellow Springs quickly blossomed into a haven for artists, intellectuals and forward-thinking entrepreneurs. From the pioneering spirit that shaped Antioch College to the vibrant downtown streets brimming with unique shops, cozy cafes and inviting eateries, every corner of Yellow Springs whispers tales of resilience, innovation and an inspiring small-town community.
We will meet at the Brutus Buckeye bench at the Ohio Union at 9:45 a.m. and take a charter bus to Yellow Springs. This is an outdoor event so please plan/dress accordingly. Students should bring money for any food or souvenir purchases.
Transportation is provided by the Office of International Affairs and there is a 36-person limit. This is a first come first served event. If you register to attend, you are confirming your space on the bus. If you can’t make it, please let us know so that we can provide the space for anyone on the waitlist.
Halloween Party – Join Us If You Dare!

160 Enarson Classroom Building
A frightfully fun Halloween celebration awaits – if you dare! Meet new friends, snack on festive autumn treats, enjoy a spooky playlist and show off your most creative Halloween costume. You’ll also have a chance to learn about Día de los Muertos from the experts with the Center for Latin American Studies and create your own Brutus Calavera. Enter your masterpiece in a community-wide coloring contest for a chance to win thrilling prizes. Visit go.osu.edu/BrutusCalavera for details.
Columbus Zoo Wild Lights!
November 20
4 – 9 p.m.
It’s a festive evening at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium Wild Lights! Students will experience the magic of the holiday season in central Ohio with millions of dazzling LED zoo lights, animated musical light shows and seasonal activities. Cold weather animals will still be around to see while you enjoy hot cocoa or other seasonal snacks.
We will meet at the Brutus Buckeye bench at the Ohio Union at 3:45 p.m. and take a charter bus to the zoo. This is an outdoor event, so please plan/dress accordingly. Students should bring money to purchase food or souvenirs.
Admission and transportation will be covered by the Office of International Affairs. There is a 32-person limit. If you register to attend, you are confirming your space on the bus. If you can’t make it, please let us know so that we can provide the space for anyone on the waitlist.
