Enhancing data management and statistical modeling skills for AMR surveillance

In a collaborative effort to address the challenges of data quality in antimicrobial resistance (AMR) surveillance, the Global One Health initiative (GOHi) partnered with the Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI) to conduct a training program about data management and basic statistical modeling in One Health research.

Fifteen instructors selected to participate in virtual exchange learning community

2024 International Photography Competition Opens

All The Ohio State University students, staff, faculty, visiting scholars and alumni are invited to submit photos to the 2024 International Photography Competition. All photographs must be the original work of the entrant, of high quality and taken outside of the United States. Photographers are invited to submit one photo in each category: People, Places and Arts & Culture. 

Pereira awarded Alumni Club of Brazil scholarship

Suélen Pereira, a Brazilian attorney, is the first recipient of a scholarship awarded by the Alumni Club of Brazil. Pereira’s scholarship supported her enrollment in the Ohio State Moritz College of Law’s summer program, "The Foundations of U.S. Law & Practice."

Brazil Gateway hosts new student sendoff event

An afternoon filled with family and friends, good food and football ticket giveaways comprised the best parts of the annual Brazil Gateway send-off events for new Brazilian Buckeyes.

This year, new students and scholars and their families met over lunch in São Paulo to learn more about Ohio State and connect with new, current and former Buckeyes. Caue Faria and Tiago D'Elia, current Ohio State students, were joined by Jaret Waters and Gustavo Ribeiro, Ohio State alumni, to share their experiences and valuable tips about life on campus.

Ohio State faculty collaborate across international borders

For more than 40 years, Ohio State has been actively collaborating with universities in China. One such partnership with Wuhan University has been vibrant and ongoing since 1981. Over the years, collaborations between Chinese researchers and faculty and Ohio State affiliates has extended across various fields including medical science, water conservancy, student affairs management and services. 

China Gateway hosts send-off events to welcome new Buckeyes

Starting college is an exciting experience for any incoming freshman, but it is uniquely challenging prospect for international students. Luckily for Chinese students, the Office of International Affairs' China Gateway office is there to help.

Every summer before students pack up their lives and board planes for Columbus, they host on-the-ground orientations in major cities like Shanghai, Shenzhen and Beijing. This year, the China Gateway staff helped provide orientation and welcome for more than 60 incoming freshman and 40 family members in a series of events throughout July.

Narrowing the know-do gap in infection prevention

Introducing new concepts and consistently implementing them is a difficult task in the hectic working environment of healthcare facilities. This is even more difficult in teaching institutions where the workforce shifts regularly. The Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) project that The Ohio State University Global One Health initiative (GOHi) is implementing in Ethiopia has tackled these challenges since its launch in February 2022.
