"This child kept peeking out of the doorway to look at me while my team and I were going door-to-door providing medical care in Granada, Nicaragua. That smile reminds me that to be able to provide a level of healthcare to Nicaraguans beyond their means was the most rewarding experience I've had and inspired anew my dedication to international medicine and global health. I was humbled by the gratefulness our patients showed, and the poverty in which they lived. I was once again reminded how lucky I am to even have the opportunity to go to college and that my career will allow me to help others every day."
