Research and scholarship grant recipients announced

Seven faculty members, 19 graduate students and three undergraduate students are the recipients of more than $100,000 in funding to pursue international research and scholarship projects during the 2022-23 academic year. The International Research and Scholarship grant competition is supported by the Offices of International Affairs, Research, Student Academic Success and the Global Gateways.

International Affairs recognized with advising award

The Office of International Affairs has been awarded the Wayne Carlson Friend of ACADAOS Award for the 2021-22 academic year. ACADAOS is Ohio State’s internal Academic Advising Association, a professional organization for academic advisors. The award was presented on April 27 at the annual ACADAOS Recognition Ceremony, which honors outstanding advisors and advising administrators.

The Office of International Affairs facilitates a wide array of international partnerships to further Ohio State’s mission to create and discover new knowledge to benefit our state, regional, national and global communities. The 2021 International Partnerships Annual Report provides statistics and highlights collaborations that expanded Ohio State’s global reach.

China Gateway creates virtual career networking opportunities

In collaboration with the American Universities’ China Association (AUCA), the China Gateway introduced a series of virtual career networking opportunities which helped Buckeyes interact with employers in China in March and April.

Undergraduate virtual recruitments events

The China Gateway partnered with the Offices of Undergraduate Admissions and Student Life, to host webinars to share information about the university, answer questions and encourage admitted students to attend Ohio State. The two webinars were in Mandarin Chinese and almost 100 students and families attended the two events.

Brazil Gateway connects Ohio and Brazil’s agritech businesses

An area of strategic focus for the Global Gateways, corporate engagement, involves working with Ohio-based businesses with international operations and in-region companies to develop relationships and engage with the university on executive education programs, career opportunities, trainings, educational activities and events.

Buckeye Panel informs alumni in Greater China

Four experts, three of whom are Ohio State alumni, discussed current market development, future trends of cross-border e-commerce, and compliance trending issues during the first Buckeye Panel on March 12. Hosted by the Shenzhen and Shanghai Alumni Clubs, the “Cross-Border Electronic Commerce Panel” virtual webinar informed more than 80 Ohio State alumni and stakeholders on this timely topic.
