Thanksgiving Dinner 2016

The Ohio State University will host one of the largest Thanksgiving Day dinners on a college campus on Thursday, November 24, in the Ohio Union. The annual event estimates 1,600 guests will attend, including the students, faculty and staff, along with their families, who are unable to travel home for the holiday. Joining them will be many volunteers throughout the university community to assist in serving the traditional turkey dinner.

Seatings for the dinner will take place at 11:45 a.m. and 2 p.m., and all guests must have a ticket to enter. Tickets are free and will be available starting Wednesday, November 16 at 140 Enarson Classroom Building, the Hale Black Cultural Center and the Ohio Union Information Center.

The traditional Thanksgiving Dinner will include 650 pounds of turkey, 30 gallons of gravy, 432 pounds each of green beans and corn, 320 pounds of corn bread and 2,000 slices of pie.

Ohio State's Thanksgiving Dinner began 25 years ago as a gathering of 25 graduate students in the Hale Black Cultural Center, and has grown to include a broad participation from out-of-state and international students. Thanksgiving Dinner is a Signature Event at Ohio State and is supported by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion and the Office of International Affairs.
