Thanksgiving Dinner

2021 Thanksgiving Dinner Update

Thanksgiving Dinner at the Ohio Union will not be held in person this year due to circumstances related to COVID-19. The Office of International Affairs and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion hope to host the event in 2022 and welcome our Buckeye family to this holiday tradition held on Thanksgiving Day.

Thanksgiving Packaged Meals Available

For those students and international scholars remaining on campus for Thanksgiving Day, there is a limited number of packaged Thanksgiving meals available. Even though the registration period has passed, anyone affiliated with Ohio State may stop by the Ohio Union on Wednesday, November 24 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to request a meal while supplies last. Please let the volunteers know at the registration table in front of Woody's Tavern on the first floor that you were unable to register and you would like to pick up a carry out Thanksgiving meal.

Any questions may be directed to  to emmons.87@osu.edu or miller.4468@osu.edu.

An annual event, Thanksgiving Dinner brings together students, faculty and staff and community members unable to return home for the long holiday weekend.

Every year, The Ohio State University hosts one of the largest Thanksgiving Day dinners on a college campus. An estimated 1,600 guests attend the event, which is free to attend and takes place in the Ohio Union.

The traditional Thanksgiving Dinner includes turkey, gravy, green beans and mashed potatoes, served with corn bread and pie.

An Ohio State Signature Event, Thanksgiving Dinner is supported by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, the Office of International Affairs, the Office of Student Life's Dining Services and The Ohio State University Alumni Association.
