The Ohio State University is ranked 30th among doctoral institutions hosting international students and 40th for the number of students studying abroad, according to a national report released today.
Ohio State enrolled 6,896* international students in 2022, an increase of 4.4 percent from 2021, and 999 students studied abroad in 2021-22 compared to only nine the previous academic year during the height of the pandemic.
The Ohio State University is ranked 99th among the world’s top universities, according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2024. Ohio State improved its ranking by 13 spots. The global rankings are based on 18 calibrated performance indicators of research-intensive universities across their core missions of teaching, research, research quality, industry and international outlook.
The India Gateway and the Alumni Club of South India made sure the newest Buckeyes from India would be well prepared for the first day of classes at The Ohio State University by hosting send-off events in Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Mumbai. The Ohio State University has selected Kaya Şahin, PhD, as its next vice provost for global strategies and international affairs, effective Nov. 1. Şahin currently serves as executive associate dean of the Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies at Indiana University (IU).

Meet Conan Cao, a passionate Ohio State alumnus (’20 economics, and public management, leadership and policy) dedicated to public service. Cao currently serves as deputy secretary general at Love Save Pneumoconiosis, a non-profit organization based in Beijing dedicated to helping the more than 6 million migrant workers who are suffering from this debilitating respiratory disease in China.
The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) recently announced that COVID-19 guidance will end with the start of autumn semester 2023. Following pre-pandemic enrollment guidance, only three credit hours of distance/online courses will count toward full-time enrollment.
