OIA international research and scholarship grants awarded for 2024-2025 academic year

The Office of international Affairs (OIA) awarded close to $100,000 in grants to seven faculty, 21 graduate students, and two undergraduate students to conduct international research and scholarship projects abroad and in the United States. Awards ranged between $1,000 and $4,000, and will be used during the 2024-25 academic year.

From Brazil to Uganda, Estonia to South Korea and everywhere in between, faculty and students will travel to 18 different countries to advance their research and expand their global engagement.

Provost Zadnik honors Fulbright and Fulbright-Hays recipients

On March 28, 2024, Interim Executive Vice President and Provost Karla Zadnik recognized students and faculty from The Ohio State University who are recent Fulbright and Fulbright-Hays recipients and Fulbright student semifinalists, as well as visiting Fulbright students and scholars from around the globe, during a reception at the Thompson Library.

2023 Open Doors national rankings released

The Ohio State University is ranked 30th among doctoral institutions hosting international students and 40th for the number of students studying abroad, according to a national report released today.

Ohio State enrolled 6,896* international students in 2022, an increase of 4.4 percent from 2021, and 999 students studied abroad in 2021-22 compared to only nine the previous academic year during the height of the pandemic.

Stephanie Boyd's National Bureau of Asian Research internship broadens horizons

Maryland native and second-year Stamps Eminence Scholar, Stephanie Boyd, took her classroom learning to Capitol Hill this past summer with an internship at the National Bureau of Asian Research. At its Washington, D.C. office, Boyd conducted research about China’s economic retaliation and militarization and how these factors affected surrounding countries.

Ohio State ranked 99th in World University Rankings 2024

The Ohio State University is ranked 99th among the world’s top universities, according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2024. Ohio State improved its ranking by 13 spots. The global rankings are based on 18 calibrated performance indicators of research-intensive universities across their core missions of teaching, research, research quality, industry and international outlook.
