“My study abroad experience was memorable because I got to meet so many kind people who educated me and opened my heart to new experiences! Not only were the professors so knowledgeable and supportive, but so were the people that lived there. I will always remember and carry what they have taught me for the rest of my life,” reflected junior psychology major Lily Myers on the Global May Germany program.

Based in Berlin for four weeks, students learn about the people, cultures, institutions and historical events that have helped shape the city, from its establishment as the capital of the Kingdom of Prussia in the 18th century to its present role an important center of European and world politics.
“It was important for me to go abroad for many reasons. I study foreign languages at Ohio State and plan to dedicate my future career to them! However, I believe it is important for everyone, regardless of their major, to experience the world firsthand. You will learn so much just from meeting new people!”
Myers, also minoring in Spanish and Korean, noted how this experience will help her as she pursues a global career after graduation.
“This experience will help me as I move forward in my career because I must travel to learn the right skills to have an international career. It also helped me to further realize that languages and cultures are truly my passions and know that I want to pursue a global life!”
“I have learned that I am much more capable and stronger than I once believed. Going abroad, especially for a longer period, can be overwhelming! But I have learned that change is beautiful and that there are other places around the world where I feel at home,” said Myers.
