As an alternative to an in-person Education Abroad Expo, the Office of International Affairs is hosting a virtual Education Abroad Expo Week. During September 8-10, students can attend the launch of the Buckeye Bridge virtual series, catch a Getting Started Session and engage with past study abroad participants.
Buckeye Bridge Virtual Series: Passport Application Workshop
Buckeye Bridge is a virtual series that brings the world right to you. On CarmenZoom, students can explore international cultures from their own homes. Sessions include applying for a passport, how studying abroad positively impacts careers, international cuisine, sports and much more. The first session will be hosted by education abroad specialist Louise Yahiaoui who will walk participants through the passport application process.
Getting Started Sessions
At a Getting Started Session, students will explore the basics of education abroad, learn about how to select the program that’s right for them, how to finance their program and navigate the application process. Students can RSVP for a session that fits their schedule.
Education Abroad Student Panels
Participants will meet past education abroad students and learn how they were transformed by their international experience. Buckeyes Abroad alumni will also answer questions during a live Q&A after the presentation.
Third Party Provider and Direct Enroll Information Sessions
Third Party Providers and Direct Enroll representatives will host their own information session on CarmenZoom throughout the day. Third Party Provider programs are managed by another U.S. or educational organization that are selected by an Ohio State academic unit, and Direct Enroll programs allow students to enroll directly in classes at a foreign institution with whom Ohio State affiliates, but are not part of a student exchange agreement, selected by an Ohio State academic unit.
