Scott Demyan has been awarded a Fulbright U.S. Scholar Award to research “Technology for improved agroecosystem crop residue use and mineral-enhanced biochar production” in Thailand.

A record number of graduate students from The Ohio State University have been awarded prestigious Fulbright U.S. Student Program fellowships for 2024-2025. Eight students are recipients of the Fulbright U.S. Student Program awards: Sheila Ameri, College of Education and Human Ecology, Sofia Bachman, Lydia Cornett and Ra’phael Davis, College of Arts and Sciences, Zach Lewis, College of Veterinary Medicine, Sam Paul, Morgan Perryman and Ellena Privitera, College of Medicine.

Marko Babić, researcher and lecturer in the Department of Political Sciences and International Studies of the University of Warsaw, has been named Fulbright Slavic Scholar at Ohio State for spring semester 2025. Babić holds a PhD in political science and DSc (habilitation) in political science and administration and serves as head of Eurasian Studies at the university in Warsaw, Poland.

Six Ohio State students have been awarded the prestigious Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs for summer 2024.

Amy J. Schmitz, John Deaver Drinko-Baker & Hostetler Chair in Law at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, has been awarded a 2024-2025 Fulbright U.S. Specialist award to examine “Access to Justice in the AI and Digital Era” in Granada, Spain.

Lauren Southerland, associate professor, Department of Emergency Medicine, College of Medicine, has been awarded a Fulbright U.S. Scholar Award to research “Accelerating Geriatric Emergency Medicine Models of Care Dissemination Using Implementation Science” in Australia.

“I am in awe of and incredibly grateful for how enriching and life-changing my Fulbright experience has been,” shares Selina Vickery, an Ohio State medical student. Vickery was awarded the Fulbright Queen Mary, University of London Award via the US-UK Fulbright Commission.
