The Office of international Affairs (OIA) awarded close to $100,000 in grants to seven faculty, 21 graduate students, and two undergraduate students to conduct international research and scholarship projects abroad and in the United States. Awards ranged between $1,000 and $4,000, and will be used during the 2024-25 academic year.

From Brazil to Uganda, Estonia to South Korea and everywhere in between, faculty and students will travel to 18 different countries to advance their research and expand their global engagement.

On March 28, 2024, Interim Executive Vice President and Provost Karla Zadnik recognized students and faculty from The Ohio State University who are recent Fulbright and Fulbright-Hays recipients and Fulbright student semifinalists, as well as visiting Fulbright students and scholars from around the globe, during a reception at the Thompson Library.

"Fulbright has been a truly life changing experience. Learning to live and work in my second language (Spanish) and having daily exposure to a third (Catalan) has provided me with a greater appreciation for the beauty and culture that each language carries within it, as well as a newfound understanding of the difficulties that those who live and work in their non-native language experience on a daily basis,” reflects Hayley Dunlop, MD ‘25 candidate in the College of Medicine.

Agnieszka Poczta-Wajda, a visiting Fulbright Slavic Award recipient from Poland’s Poznan University of Economics and Business, has joined the Department of Slavic and East European Languages and Cultures for spring semester 2024.

Four Ohio State students have been awarded the prestigious Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs for spring 2024.
