“My study abroad experience strengthened my communication, marketing, organizational and business skills while giving me firsthand insight into how an international business operates,” reflected Abby Kneller on the Fisher Global Internships: Italy program.
Kneller spent the summer working at FF Tour, a premier personal shopping and cultural experience company operating in Milan, Florence, Rome and Venice.
“I gained hands-on experience creating promotional Instagram reels, supporting sales and customer interactions, assisting with daily business operations, leading workshops such as paper marbling, perfume making, and the vintage fashion tour and contributing to the growth of a small business,” she said.
Outside of the office, Kneller got to fully immerse herself in the Italian culture, but also was able to take advantage of the opportunity to travel to surrounding countries.
“I visited Paris, London, Prague, Budapest, and Madrid, and explored some of Italy's most beautiful destinations, including Sorrento, Capri, and Cinque Terre. Every city introduced me to new cultures, perspectives, and experiences that broadened my worldview and challenged me to step outside of my comfort zone,” shared Kneller.
Out of all the memorable moments from the summer, Kneller notes that her favorite part was making lasting bonds with her fellow classmates, many of whom she hadn’t met before the program.
“One of the most meaningful parts of this experience was the friendships I built with other Ohio State students. Some were classmates I had barely known before the program, while others were people I had never met before, and they have since become some of my closest friends. These relationships became just as valuable as the professional experience and the travel itself.”
