The São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) and the Office of International Affairs are partnering for the second year on a call for joint research projects. The aim is to promote and strengthen collaboration between researchers affiliated with higher education and research institutions in the state of São Paulo, Brazil, and researchers working at Ohio State.
The call invites research proposals in any discipline, but especially in areas related to: Biotechnology; Energy Transition; Biodiversity, Sustainable Food Systems and Food Security; Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence; Quantum Science and Technology; Human and Animal Health; and Violence and Public Safety.
A total of five proposals will be funded and the submission deadline is September 26.
FAPESP and Ohio State will fund jointly up to $20,000 (BRL 106,000) per project with a duration of two years. FAPESP will support the costs of the research team based in the State of São Paulo (up to $10,000/ BRL 53,000) and Ohio State will fund the U.S.-based research team (up to $10,000/BRL 53000).
Note: The conversion to Brazilian reais (BRL) was based on the FAPESP exchange rate of BRL 5.30 per U.S. dollar, effective June 26, 2026.
