Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

International voices: Your America in 250 words

The Office of International Affairs invites Ohio State’s international students to participate in the "Your America in 250 Words" essay and photo contest, a unique opportunity to share personal perspectives and experiences while studying and traveling in the United States. Essays should be insightful, capture the spirit of your journey and reflect on what living in the United States means to you. A high quality photo capturing your experience should accompany the entry. Whether you are just beginning your adventure or reflecting on memorable moments, your story can educate and inspire others.

This activity is part of a series of programs and initiatives supported by Ohio State throughout 2026 to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States. Visit Ohio State's America 250 website to learn more about scheduled events throughout the year.
