The Office of International Affairs, the Drake Institute for Teaching and Learning, the Global Gateways and the Office of Technology and Digital Innovation announced six recipients of the Virtual Global Teaching and Learning Grant. The funds will support faculty in the development of internationally focused teaching and learning exchanges at Ohio State, using a variety of online platforms and mediums.
Recipients of the grant are all within the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Engineering and Nursing.
- Kristen Conroy for “Engineering Service Learning in Ghana,” Department of Biological Engineering/Engineering Service Learning
- Richard Fletcher for “Ways of Listening and Learning at the Toronto Biennial of Art,” Department of Arts Administration, Education and Policy
- Fabio Leite for “Intercultural Competence for Study and Work at Ohio State,” Ohio State Lima; Ohio State funded through the Global Gateways in collaboration with the Brazil Gateway.
- Larysa Stepanova for “Collaboration with the Institution of Higher Education Abroad,” Department of Slavic and Eastern European Languages and Cultures; in collaboration with Russian Federal University
- Joni Tornwall for “Global Perspectives on Instructional Design and Peer Feedback in Nursing Education,” College of Nursing; in partnership with Tampere University (Finland)
- Michele Saraiva Carilo for “Teaching Abroad: Exploring Innovative Pedagogies and Socio-culturally Diverse Contexts,” Department of Spanish and Portuguese; Teaching TESOL students intercultural and contextual background related to Brazil
The Global Teaching and Learning Grant strives to develop global competency and provide opportunities for international learning experiences in an online setting, allowing participants to understand and collaborate with diverse cultures at Ohio State and around the world.
