Buckeyes Abroad: Byann Rasul

Byann Rasul, a teaching English to speakers of other languages education major, studied abroad on the College of Education and Human Ecology Educational, Cultural and Linguistic Engagements program in Oaxaca, Mexico in Summer 2022.

"I had the privilege to be a part of the Educational, Cultural and Linguistic Engagements in Oaxaca, Mexico program. We taught English and attended Spanish language classes. We also got the chance to visit some historical sites here in Oaxaca."

"This experience has been a lot more than I expected. I was able to fully immerse myself in the language and culture. During this experience we stayed with a host family, and I was able to create a great bond with them that I will cherish forever. Not only was I able to see and experience different things every weekend, but I also got to spend my weeks with an amazing group of kids who always kept me on my toes. One thing I will take away from this experience is the relationships with the amazing people I have met, (and I will also be taking lots of recipes home!). I hope to go abroad again. Thank you, OSU, for this opportunity!"
