Ben Mollica, a biochemistry major and Spanish minor, studied abroad in Valencia, Spain via ISA Valencia, Spain: Hispanic Studies - Summer program in 2022.
“I had a once in a lifetime experience studying abroad in Valencia, Spain. Spending 5 weeks in this beautiful city greatly impacted my world view and my insight on Spanish culture and language. I primarily wanted to do this trip to improve my Spanish speaking skills. Being immersed with native speakers everywhere I went helped me learn so much and pick up on common words and phrases that were new to me.
My professors at the University of Valencia were amazing and really knowledgeable. I took a Spanish culture class and a Spanish cinema class. Both of which were very fun, and I learned a lot. One of my favorite experiences from the trip was visiting Barcelona. The city was so beautiful, especially the gothic quarter. I believe it’s important to experience other cultures and ways of life, and I definitely think getting to do that in Spain was an unforgettable experience.”
