Call for proposals: FAPESP and Office of International Affairs joint seed funding

The São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) and the Office of International Affairs (OIA) at The Ohio State University have announced a new call for joint research projects. This initiative aims to foster collaboration between researchers from higher education and research institutions in São Paulo, Brazil, and Ohio State University.

Research Themes

  • Technology and society: ethics, governance, law
  • Data science and artificial intelligence
  • Agriculture and the environment
  • New forms and sources of energy
  • New directions in the humanities
  • Cancer and immunology

Funding

Up to $20,000 per project for a duration of two years.

Timeline

  • Launch of call: July 8, 2025
  • Submission deadline: August 25, 2025
  • Announcement of results: October 20, 2025
  • Project start date: November 1, 2025

 

Eligibility criteria include having one Principal Investigator (PI) from São Paulo and one from Ohio State. Proposals must be written in English and highlight the unique contributions of both partners.
