Ethan Heskett is a junior majoring in agriculatural communication. He studied abroad through the England: Evolution in Darwin's World and Ours program during the summer of 2024.
What made your study abroad experience memorable?
I got to meet so many new friends that I never would have had the chance to meet otherwise. I also got to build a deeper connection with professors that I wouldn't have gotten able to in a classroom setting. My favorite moment from my study abroad to England was getting to watch Phantom of the Opera in the original theatre it was performed in.
What have learned about yourself and/or the world from this experience?
I learned how much the world has to offer. There are so many jobs and opportunities out there; you can truly do whatever you want with your life.
What advice do you have for students who are considering studying abroad?
Take a chance on a study abroad that sounds fun to you. The worst that can happen is you make new friends and experience some fun opportunities that you couldn't do otherwise. The best that can happen is you can jumpstart your career. I had lunch at one of Gordan Ramsay's restaurants the last day I was in London and a lady sat down beside me. I ended up meeting her and learning that she started a photography and videography business. I found this very exciting since I just switched my major to agricultural communication.
