Sample H-1B Letter of Support

For all non-faculty positions, provide a letter of support on departmental letterhead from the department chair or employee’s supervisor.

  • Ensure that the letter's content is consistent with the position description as approved by Human Resources
  • Ensure that the employee possesses the appropriate degree level (Bachelor, Master, PhD) and degree subject area as described in the approved position description
  • An individual’s credentials should never be inconsistent with the stated requirements in an approved position description
