“It was a cold, wet day in February, tucked away in the foothills of the alps. It had just finished raining. The only semblance of warmth came from recalling the hot bowl of gulaschsuppe I had earlier for lunch at a Tyrolean restaurant on route between Innsbruck, Austria and Schwangau, Germany. My friends and I had just finished touring Neuschwanstein Castle and picked up some schmalzkuchen to enjoy from a street vendor on our walk back to the car when I captured this scene of the castle nestled in the mountains, surrounded by fog.
