Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Training on adverse events following immunization

The Global One Health (GOH) LLC provided training for surveillance officers and data clerks through the Hospital Based Sentinel Surveillance of Adverse Events of Special Interest (AESI) project in Ethiopia from May 4-6 in collaboration with the Ethiopian Food and Drug Authority, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and the Taskforce for Global Health.

This supplementary surveillance program monitors AESI following COVID-19 vaccinations administered at Tikur Anbessa Specialized Hospital and aims to strengthen the national vaccine pharmacovigilance system to improve the immunization program. This training provided information on the national adverse events following immunization (AEFI) surveillance system, AEFI protocol implementation, research ethics and the AEFI data collection tools. GOH LLC hosted the training and led discussions about the takeaways from a pilot testing of data collection.
