An annual gathering which brings together students and educational institutions, International Education Week is a resource to help prospective students in India explore their options for higher education in the U.S.
EducationUSA and the U.S. Consulate Mumbai celebrated International Education Week by engaging U.S. universities, colleges and high schools during the week of November 14. The week of fairs and visits kicked off with events at the high schools in Pune-Panchgani and Kochi for prospective undergraduate students organized by the Mumbai and the Chennai centers. India Gateway represented Ohio State as one of fifteen U.S. institutions that participated.
International Education Week included visits to the Symbiosis International School, Mahindra International School, and Indus International School in Pune as well as Sanjeewan Vidyalaya and Vidya Niketan in Panchgani on November 17. Ohio State alumnus Swapnil Gawade (MBA, ’10) a Buckeye based out of Pune, traveled to Panchgani to speak with prospective students and shared insights and learning experiences.
The India Gateway also participated in the EducationUSA Chennai center high school visits in Kochi, including Global Public School, Gems Modern Academy, The Choice School, and The Charter School, with support from colleagues at the U.S. Consulate, in Mumbai.
On November 17, EducationUSA Delhi organized a Graduate Virtual Showcase for colleges, training and placement officers, and prospective graduate students along with a bouquet of U.S. universities participating in the session. Nina Parshall, College of Engineering, Linda MacCarthy, Graduates and Professional Admissions, Kelly Cafferkey, Moritz College of Law, and Yi Sun, College of Social Work, represented Ohio State at the showcase.
