Fabio Leite is an associate professor in Experimental/Cognitive Psychology at Ohio State Lima where he has taught many courses, including Research Methods and Memory & Cognition. Leite is a Brazilian native and completed his PhD at the Institute for Mathematical Behavioral Sciences (University of California, Irvine) in 2005.

His research training is in the modeling of cognitive processes, and he primarily focuses on the analysis of response time and accuracy data from quick decisions in order to infer how people process information and make fast decisions. Leite is the recipient of the 2012 Ohio State Lima Outstanding Teaching Award and also has been recognized with undergraduate research and mentorship awards, a Dedication and Excellence in Teaching award from PSI CHI and a Course Enhancement Grant from the University Libraries.

In January, Leite was a featured speaker at “What’s My Story,” a discussion series that highlights Ohio State Lima faculty, staff, and students hosted by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion.

Leite discussed his book, “A Long Way from Bitingui – A Journey within the Americas,” which traces Leite’s journey from the scene of a crucial conversation in Bitingui, Brazil. The book points to past and future events, revealing how early experiences shaped the way forward and highlighting life lessons along the way. The book is available on Amazon.
