China Gateway welcomes Professor Wagner from John Glenn College of Public Affairs

On October 25, prospective students, parents and Ohio State alumni gathered at the China Gateway office in Shanghai for a lecture by Professor Caroline Wagner from the John Glenn College of Public Affairs.

Professor Wagner conducts research in the field of science and technology and its relationship to policy, society and innovation with a particular focus on international collaboration. Wagner, a 2023-2024 recipient of a Faculty, Research, Teaching and Outreach Grant through the Office of International Affairs, was invited to visit the China Gateway office in Shanghai during her travels in the country and deliver a lecture to the local audience.

The lecture was based on Wagner's research on U.S. and China collaborative patterns in science and technology, illustrating the rapid growth in cooperation across disciplines. Professor Wagner shared statistics indicating China’s rapid development in the field of science and technology in recent years. She illustrated the spectacular growth in cooperation, citing the number of joint papers published by scholars in each nation according to data from Web of Science.
