More than 50 Ohio State alumni and friends attended the third Buckeye Panel on March 19. The virtual event was hosted by the Chengdu Alumni Club. Weiguo Sun (PhD, Chemistry ‘92) and Ming Pu (PhD, Mathematics ‘07) shared their insight and advice on personal and professional development. They also discussed their views on the importance of choosing a career path after graduation, and how to make best use of a study abroad experience to enhance career development.
Sun is the former president of Xihua University and former vice president of Sichuan University. His research interests are electron-molecule scattering, atomic and molecular photoionization, molecular vibrational and rovibrational spectra and molecular potentials. Pu is the vice dean for the School of Finance at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics.
With the goal of connecting Buckeyes virtually and professionally, the Buckeye Panel initiative was launched by the China Gateway in partnership with Greater China alumni clubs and with support from The Ohio State University Alumni Association and International Advancement.
