Buckeye Panel informs alumni in Greater China

Four experts, three of whom are Ohio State alumni, discussed current market development, future trends of cross-border e-commerce, and compliance trending issues during the first Buckeye Panel on March 12. Hosted by the Shenzhen and Shanghai Alumni Clubs, the “Cross-Border Electronic Commerce Panel” virtual webinar informed more than 80 Ohio State alumni and stakeholders on this timely topic.

The Buckeye professionals also shared their personal experiences in the industry. Chen Guo (BS ’13, electrical engineering), is co-founder of Fledging, a Shenzhen-based cross-border e-commerce start-up focusing on consumer electronic goods such as storage, data transfer and power delivery. Joy Liu (BS ’16, accounting), is the founder of an Amazon home brand and previously worked at L Brands for three years. Albert Wang (JD ’12, Moritz College of Law), is an experienced commercial lawyer and leads a professional team to provide legal services for corporate clients in the fields of cross-border transactions, mergers and acquisitions, online legal compliance and commercial dispute resolution.

With the goal of connecting Buckeyes virtually and professionally, this new initiative was launched by the China Gateway in partnership with all the alumni clubs in Greater China and support from The Ohio State University Alumni Association and international advancement unit in the Office of Advancement.

The Hong Kong Alumni Club is planning to host the second Buckeye Panel in June 2022. Details will be shared on the China Gateway social media and the Office of International Affairs website.
