Brazil Gateway visits Columbus sister city

A delegation from Greater Columbus Sister Cities International visited Brazil in January to meet with companies and government offices in Curitiba, Columbus’ sister city since 2014. The group included members and representatives from Columbus’ business, health, housing and transportation sectors.

The Brazil Gateway, with the help of alumnus Nilceu Nazareno ‘92, worked with the delegation’s travel provider to secure a visit to Hexion, a chemical company headquartered in Columbus, and a talk with Luiz Lucchesi ‘97, alumnus and former superintendent of the Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources.

Jane K. Aparecido, director of the Brazil Gateway, accompanied the group during Hexion’s visit and gave a presentation on the Gateway’s activities in Brazil and opportunities to collaborate.

While in Curitiba, Aparecido met with Nazareno and Lucchesi to discuss collaborations, visited EducationUSA’s new office at Faculdades Pequeno Príncipe and talked with prospective students at the International School of Curitiba who might be interested in studying at Ohio State.
