On Wednesday, July 20, at 5 p.m. EDT/6 p.m. BRT, hear from Helen Toledo Moreira de Almeida, a 2020 graduate from the Moritz College of Law and current attorney from Brazil. With over 10 years of experience, including managing her own legal practice, Toledo Moreira de Almeida will discuss life as an LL.M student in the United States, opportunities for professional growth, the importance of networking and the value of having an LL.M degree for your career.
How does the Brazilian state respond to refugee influxes, and conversely, how do refugees respond to state-led resettlement/integration policies? On Wednesday, July 27, at 11 a.m. EDT/12 p.m. BRT, José O. Pérez – a political science PhD candidate at Ohio State – will discuss the impacts and ramifications of contemporary refugee resettlements and integration processes, focusing on the resettlement and integration of Venezuelan refugees in Brazil.
This webinar will be moderated by Mariana Correa, PhD candidate at the Institute of International Relations at the University of São Paulo.
