Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Fisher Honors cohort explores Brazil

In December, the Fisher College of Business Honors Cohort embarked on a two-week immersive program in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. The experience brought together 39 graduating seniors for an intensive blend of academic, professional engagement, and cultural exploration. Students presented their capstone projects at the University of São Paulo’s School of Economics, Business and Accounting, collaborated in a case competition with Litro de Luz Brasil, and participated in site visits with global firms including Deloitte and FactSet.

While in São Paulo, the cohort also hosted a special event at The Ohio State University Brazil Gateway office. The program featured presentations by Jane Aparecido, senior director of the Brazil Gateway,  Camila Pereira, partner at Visagio and Jaret Waters, senior data analyst at Insper Institution.

Jaret ‘19, who was a member of the Fisher Honors Cohort while at Ohio State, offered a powerful full-circle moment for students. Now living and working in Brazil, he shared a technical and personal perspective on career development, illustrating how statistical and analytical skills can be leveraged to shape long-term professional growth.

These high-level business interactions were balanced with cultural exchange, including local soccer matches, to provide a well-rounded view of the Brazilian landscape.
