IIE Passport Grant

Apply for the chance to have your passport fully funded

In May, Ohio State was selected as one of 40 U.S. colleges and universities to receive an American Passport Project grant from the Institute of International Education. The $4,125 grant will provide funding for up to 25 Pell-eligible Buckeyes to obtain a U.S. passport. The grant will cover the cost of obtaining a U.S. passport, an essential first step to travel internationally.

Application

Eligibility

Students who apply must be: 

  • A U.S. citizen aged 18 or older
  • Eligible for the Federal Pell Grant

Preference will be given for: 

  • Students in their first year of school
  • Students who have not previously held an adult U.S. passport

The goal of this program is to increase access to international education and lower cost barriers for students who may want to study abroad through Ohio State or travel internationally independently.
