An annual event, Thanksgiving Dinner brings together students, faculty and staff unable to return home for the long holiday weekend.
Thanksgiving Dinner will take place on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at noon in the Archie M. Griffin Ballroom at the Ohio Union.
Every year, Ohio State hosts one of the largest Thanksgiving dinners on a college campus, the day before the holiday. An estimated 1,000 guests attend the free event and everyone must present a ticket to enter. More information about obtaining a ticket to attend will be available closer to the event.
Thanksgiving dinner was first hosted on campus as a small gathering in Hale Hall in 1991. Over the years, the event has continued to grow and now provides a space for hundreds to gather together, celebrate and be thankful for our Buckeye community.
An Ohio State Signature Event, Thanksgiving Dinner is supported by the Frank W. Hale, Jr. Black Cultural Center and the Office of International Affairs.
Join us to watch the Fantastic Mr. Fox
This year, we invite you to attend a special, family-friendly screening of the Fantastic Mr. Fox at the Wexner Center for the Arts. The animated feature film, directed by Wes Anderson, utilizes classic handmade stop-motion techniques to adapt a classic children's book by Roald Dahl (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach). The film starts at 2:30 p.m. immediately following the Thanksgiving Dinner event. Visit the Wexner Center for ticket prices (students and children are free).
