This immersive program introduces students to Iceland’s striking natural landscapes and the environmental issues they face. From geysers and glaciers to volcanic deserts and coastal fisheries, students explore land degradation, resource conservation, and restoration efforts. Field visits include national parks, a cave tour, and a geothermal hot spring swim, while learning about industries like fishing, whaling, and tourism. Through hands-on experiences and cultural insights, students compare Icelandic approaches to environmental sustainability with those in the U.S.
