Although Taiwan accounts for less than 0.02% of the world's landmass, it has become an indispensable force in the age of AI and advanced chipmaking through its outsized role in the global semiconductor industry. This remarkable story is chronicled in A Chip Odyssey, a documentary that traces the rise of Taiwan's semiconductor sector and its emergence as a cornerstone of the modern digital economy.

A reception, featuring Taiwanese bubble tea, will begin at 5:30 p.m. The formal program will start at 6 p.m. and  include brief remarks from local leaders highlighting the growing importance of the partnership between Taiwan and Ohio. The screening will be followed by a short discussion with Ohio State faculty and business leaders exploring the film's themes and the global significance of Taiwan semiconductors.

This film screening is organized by the East Asian Studies Center.
