Workshop Description

This workshop introduces frontier applications of generative artificial intelligence in humanities research to the research communities at OSU. Topics range from the nature and essential concepts of large language models to their use across different stages of the research cycle, including but not limited to:

  1. The nature of large language models (LLMs)
  2. Hallucination and bias
  3. Digitizing non-digital-born materials
  4. Collecting digital-born materials
  5. Extracting data from materials
  6. Tagging and annotation
  7. Building dashboards for visualization

The workshop is hands-on in nature. Participants should bring their own laptops, as tablets may not support all the exercises.
