Makhija Furthers Collaborations in Mumbai and New Dehli

A visit to India by Anil Makhija, dean of the Fisher College of Business, further solidified partnerships with industry and government agencies and explored new collaborative opportunities for Ohio State.

Hosted by Ohio State’s India Gateway, Makhija visited Mumbai and New Delhi to meet with leadership at the Mahindra Institute of Quality (MIQ), which has an international agreement with Fisher’s Center for Operational Excellence, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and the Income Tax Human Resource Development office. At MIQ in Mumbai, Makhija evaluated the success of Fisher’s joint certification program, which will mark its second year in December.

Discussions at SEBI focused on learning more about the board’s key priorities, sharing Fisher’s mission, its engagements in the United States, including with the Securities & Exchange Commission, as well as its strategic international interests and partnerships in India. In New Delhi, Makhija learned more about the executive education interests of the income tax governing body to see if there was a potential for future partnerships.

Learning from Ohio State’s partners and understanding their priorities has been the core of the India Gateway charter as it continues to promote and build a broader brand for the university by facilitating mutually enriching avenues for collaboration.
