Since its establishment, GOHi has been working with Ethiopian Ministry of Health, Ethiopian Public Health Institute Regional Health Bureaus and other stakeholders to strengthen the national health system capacity to prevent, detect and respond to various health threats through building surveillance, laboratory and workforce capacity.

This July, GOHi, in collaboration with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, completed preparations to deploy 12 regional coordinators and 75 surveillance officers to all Regional Health Bureaus and selected health facilities to strengthen facility-based surveillance to support the Public Health Emergency management system.
