Oumer Berta worked at Global One Health initiative (GOHi) from May 1, 2017, to September 30, 2019 in the WHIP3TB clinical trial project as a pharmacist at the Zewditu Memorial Hospital site.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from Haramaya University in 2015 and is currently a master’s fellow in clinical trial at Addis Ababa University.

His fellowship was secured through GOHi’s partnership with CDT-Africa.

His thesis is focused on asthma patients and is titled, ''Are short acting Beta agonists effective for the treatment of Asthma: A retrospective cohort database review among Addis Ababa asthmatic patients.''
