Fasil Mengistu

Fasil Mengistu, DVM, MS, earned his degrees from Addis Ababa University (AAU), Ethiopia. He works for the Ethiopia Public Health Institute (EPHI) in zoonoses diseases research.

Currently, he is a PhD candidate in Health Biotechnology at AAU and his project is titled,  "Genomic Diversity of Salmonellae in Human beings and Meats of Food Animals in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia."

The project’s major objective is to understand the genome diversity of salmonellae, sequencing antimicrobial resistance encoding genes through whole genome sequencing supported by Ohio State, EPHI and AAU.
