Education Abroad Program Viability Updates

Travel for Office of International Affairs managed programs during autumn semester, winter break and spring semester is being assessed for viability. Program viability decisions will be rendered as follows:

  • Third party provider programs, direct enroll programs, and exchange programs with August start dates: June 4, 2021
  • Faculty-led programs with winter break travel: August 1, 2021
  • Spring semester 2022 programs: September 24, 2021
  • Spring break 2022 faculty-led programs and summer 2022 programs with required pre-requisite courses: November 10, 2021

Should it be determined that a program is not viable, decisions may be rendered earlier than the published deadline dates. These viability dates are for OIA-managed programs only.

Students are encouraged to explore their options, including virtual programs, and learn more by browsing the education abroad program search tool, watching a tutorial, attending a Getting Started Session, listening to a Buckeyes Abroadcast and participating in a Buckeye Bridge Series event. For these events and more, visit the Office of International Affairs calendar. Should students have questions or need to speak with an education abroad specialist, please call 614-292-6101 or email abroadadvisor@osu.edu
