In collaboration with the American Universities’ China Association, the China Gateway hosted an online alumni career talk event on October 17. Alumni speakers from the finance industry were invited to share their perspectives and experience with student participants. Speakers and participants came from a number of U.S. universities, including Ohio State, Washington University in St. Louis and the University of Southern California.

Yue Fan, who graduated in 2012 with a master’s degree in finance from Ohio State, is now the vice president of investment at Envision Capital. Fan shared his experience in the investment field and discussed the career path of his profession. Hao Jiang from the University of Southern California shared his typical day working at a Shanghai securities institution.

Alumni speakers also provided advice on how to prepare for a career in the finance industry. At the end of the session, student participants networked with the alumni speakers. Around 30 Buckeyes registered to attend the event.
