China Gateway featured in international education graduate seminar

Phoebe You, senior director of the China Gateway, gave a virtual tour of the Shanghai office to a hybrid graduate seminar taught by associate professor Tatiana Suspitsyna in the College of Education and Human Ecology on September 28.

The seminar is focused on internationalizing colleges and universities. For this course, students studied material on international branch campuses and the Gateway office, watched You's virtual office tour and participated in an in-class activity led by PhD candidate Ruth Lu.

The virtual tour was pre-recorded through Zoom due to the 12-hour time difference. You served as guide and enthusiastically shared anecdotes about the Gateway’s décor and decorations, as well as interesting alumni, student, faculty and parent stories that influenced the office’s design and exhibits. Additionally, You presented a brief overview of the China Gateway's daily operations and what it takes to operate one of Ohio State’s Global Gateways offices.

Geoff Nelson, a global education specialist in the Office of International Affairs and a PhD student in the class, took the class photo at the conclusion of the session.
