Admitted students learn about Ohio State through webinar

In association with the India Gateway office, Ohio State undergraduate admissions hosted webinars for admitted students from India for fall 2021. The virtual sessions, where students learned more about Ohio State and its offerings, were held with the goal of convincing the admitted students to attend Ohio State in fall. Marco Chavez, senior assistant director, undergraduate admissions, presented on various topics such as college experience, the city of Columbus, campus life, housing, Residential Learning Communities, tuition costs, and the Buckeye spirit. He conducted polls in the beginning and during the presentation to understand what kind of information the students wanted.

Students engaged via a Q&A and asked questions related to scholarships, housing contracts during the gap year, residence halls, typical class size, Honors program, work opportunities, financial aid, safety and the return to in-person classes. The India Gateway answered a question about summer internships opportunities in India. The admitted students also indicated their interest in connecting with other enrolled students.

Chavez concluded the sessions with sharing contact information for resources on campus and at the India Gateway and he encouraged students to reach out with any questions. Ohio State looks forward to helping students seeking answers and information as they decide on joining the Buckeye Family.
