India Gateway Hosts Pre-Departure Preparation Session

The India Gateway hosted a virtual pre-departure preparation session on Friday, July 10, for incoming graduate students from India. In collaboration with the Office of International Affairs, the Office of Student Academic Success and the College of Engineering, the pre-departure session offers the opportunity for students to learn about life at Ohio State, connect with other Ohio State student and university staff and learn important information before attending classes. Due to COVID-19, the session was held virtually for the first time.

Organized by the India Gateway, a panel of experts from graduate admissions discussed topics ranging from academic expectations, campus involvement, cultural adjustments, health and safety and immigration.

Ayesha Seth, a current graduate student in the Department of Chemistry, was included on the panel and  shared advice and her personal experiences during her time as an Ohio State student.

Continuing the pre-departure preparation online was imperative due to the amount of new information and questions from students and their families. No matter the platform, the India Gateway wants to welcome new students to the Buckeye family and provide accurate and important information so students can be successful during their time at Ohio State.
