Buckeyes Abroad: Katie Gorbold

Ohio State nursing students earn clinical hours abroad via pilot program with Lovisenberg Diaconal University College in Oslo, Norway

"As a future midwife, I hope to work in a variety of settings all over the world, and look forward to entering a truly global profession. My abroad nursing experience in Norway not only expanded my view of what it means to be a nurse, but also allowed me to fulfill the abroad component to complete my Graduate Interdisciplinary Specialization in Global Health," reflects Katie Gorbold, a nurse midwife candidate in the College of Nursing, who studied abroad in Norway in the summer of 2019. Nursing students earned clinical hours via a pilot program with Lovisenberg Diaconal University College in Oslo, Norway.

"This certificate is important to me as I think we need to expand our focus outward as we progress in the healthcare field," says Gorbold.
